Lindsay Newlin, Instructor/Owner

Lindsay began her Pilates "journey" in August 2010. Eight months pregnant with a toddler in tow, she broke her ankle walking down the back steps on the way to teach a group fitness class at the gym. Post-boot and postpartum she decided to give Mat Pilates a try. Immediately she fell in love with the method and results.

In 2013, Lindsay began an apprenticeship with Master Pilates Instructor, Jenny Freeman, at THE STUDIO at Johnson & Hayes. It was under Jenny's training and observation that she learned to teach efficient and safe movement on the Pilates Reformer. Jenny was particularly passionate about training special populations, and we strive to continue her legacy at Pilates South.

Lindsay opened Pilates South in January 2018. We are forever grateful to Scott Johnson & Todd Hayes of Johnson & Hayes for helping make this possible.

Lindsay is a Balanced Body Comprehensively Certified Pilates Teacher, and Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT). Other certifications/training includes: ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Group Fitness Instructor, and TRX Group Training.

Lindsay is an Auburn University grad (War Eagle!) which is where she met her amazing husband (and Pilates South maintenance-man) Mike. They have 3 wonderful children (Joseph, Anna Paige, and Benjamin), 1 dog (Lucy), and 2 cats (Olive & Fig).

Holly Welch, PT, MSPT, CMPT

Holly Welch partners with Pilates South to support patients who want to continue to build on their performance and health with guidance to safely work to their full potential. Reformer Pilates can be helpful for whole body strengthening and can be an excellent way to “bridge the gap” between therapy and fitness—this is especially true for individuals with scoliosis. As Alabama’s first Schroth Therapist for Scoliosis and Kyphosis, Holly treats patients of all ages with scoliosis or other spinal challenges.

Holly is a Clinic Director for Focus Physiotherapy, and has been practicing physical therapy for nearly 20 years. She completed undergraduate school at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga., and earned her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy  from Texas State University. She is also a Certified Manual Physical Therapist through North American Institute of Manual Therapy.

Though she was born in Jamaica and raised in Texas, Holly has called Huntsville home for more than 12 years.  She lives in South Huntsville with her family and 2 dogs.
